Green Velo

In mid-October, the KasyBag team, along with friends, recovered on a small bike trip. We visited the famous Green Velo route. It is located in Poland and has a length of almost 2000 km. We did not plan to drive all the way. We had only one week for everything about everything. Therefore, they chose a “piece” of themselves from Przesheljel to Helm. Why exactly him? Yes, everything is simple, an electric train from Ukraine goes to both cities, which greatly simplifies logistics.

The city of Przheshel. Starting point of the route

The route itself is a collection of bike paths, dirt paths and minor roads. Almost everywhere there is a marking that occurs every 500-1000 meters. It’s very convenient to navigate. Regularly, along the route, there are places for rest - MOR. There are canopies, tables, parking for bicycles, trash cans. A great option to take a break and move on.

One of the MOR stations. Here you can relax, gather strength and go on.

All the nights we had were in tents in the forest. On the Green Velo route, a lot of housing is rented at an affordable price. We were already off season, so many were closed. If you wish, you can easily go without tackle equipment and spend the night in civilian places.

The first night in the forest. The camp was set up next to the road.

All equipment fit in KasyBag bags without any problems.

In addition to the developed bicycle infrastructure, there is also something to see on the route. On the Przheshel - Helm section, there are old manors, lakes, forests, wooden churches and much more. I can’t say that the sights cause wild delight, but it’s very nice to go along the marked route and explore various interesting places.

Beautiful wooden church.

Ancient cemetery.

The former estate, now it has a sanatorium.

Overnight place.

Everyone bought the products already on the spot in the markets. Every day I came across large stores where you could pay by card, so there was no need to predominate the local currency.

Green Velo Icon.

Full bike path.

Former quarry.

The route itself is perfect for beginners. There are no large climbs or extreme descents, almost all the time “at hand” the population. The road is asphalt, sometimes primers come across, but they are in excellent condition. So this is a great option for those who want to try cycling. And the best part is that there are practically no cars! Green Velo is laid away from major cities and key highways.

Ancient cemetery. Very atmospheric place.

Ponds Echo

Wooden manor.

Brewery in the town of Zvezhinets

Central square in the city of Zamosc

Moat around the historical part of the city of Zamosc

Helm is the finish point on our route.

You can read more detailed information about our trip on the blog kasy.com.ua, and I also recommend exploring the GreenVelo route site, there is a lot of useful information.
