We are back from the Alps

We began our journey on August 2, 2019, from the city of Vienna, and returned from fairy-tale Austria, to our homeland, on the 14th of the same month. Simply put, these were the next unforgettable 14 days in life.

On a camping trip, we, as usual, were equipped with KasyBag bags. In total, 3 people went in the style of bike packing, the rest preferred a bag. Although already in the campaign, many of the baullers decided that bikepacking is a good option. And some even on site made their own bikepacking from improvised means.

Not a single bag was damaged during the entire trip, although this is not the first such trip of our kashibegs. But then we came up with innovations and improvements to almost all bags. And by the next season we think it’s nice to surprise our customers. But back to the journey itself))

In this campaign there were 8 of us, who were divided into 4 tents. And this immediately called into question our imperceptible stay in a country where free camping is not welcome. Therefore, we immediately outlined several campsites along the route, but we also planned to partisan in the forests. And I can say that this was very rare for us, but did not upset us at all.

Austria is a country of unprecedented colors, atmosphere and hospitality. This is especially true in mountain villages and small towns. Here, flowers bloom everywhere, it smells of freshness and comfort. Indeed, magnificent alpine meadows and lakes were revealed before us, as from the pictures. High and impregnable mountains with waterfalls that seem to have torn off the peaks themselves.

The romance of Austria is exciting and surprising. But I want to go all the same to the numbers and dates, distances and heights that we have overcome. In total, we clocked up a little more than 700 km and 11 km of climb in 10 days of travel. Actually our track you can see below. The highest point in the campaign was the Hochtor pass - 2576 m. The climb there took us 6 running hours!

Concluding my description, I can say that it is worth cycling around Austria. And if you have marked yourself this country on the list, then do not delay the far-fetched. Cycling here is the same hiking experience that you can get in full. Capturing and long distances, and elevations and beautiful views from which you simply can not hide.
